A bronze figure of Saint George on a plinth, in armour, with a sword in his right hand, and a shield in his left. The dado is inscribed to the memory of the men and women of Hove who died in the First and Second World Wars. The dates of the First World War are given as 1914–1919, presumably to include those who had not yet been demobilised when they fell victims to the Spanish influenza epidemic of 1919. There were many convalescent homes for military personnel in Hove.
