A bust of William Ewart Gladstone, four-time Prime Minister of Great Britain. He had a Dingwall connection through his mother, Anne Robertson who was born in the original Bridaig House which later became the girls’ hostel for Dingwall Academy, and was demolished to make way for the district council offices. The artist, Laura Thistlethwayte (née Bell) is said to have helped Edwin Landseer sculpt one of the lions in Trafalgar Square.
