Lexington Davis is an AHRC-funded PhD candidate at the University of St Andrews. Her dissertation, titled 'Women's Work: Second-Wave Feminist Art and Domestic Labour', is a transnational study exploring how feminist artists in the 1970s and 1980s complicated the politics of social reproduction, care, and labour through their work. She has previously held curatorial positions at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Recently, she has organized exhibitions at the Neue Galerie der Tiroler Künstlerschaft, Innsbruck; the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center, Budapest; and the Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki. She lectures at Leiden University and regularly presents work at conferences. Her writing has appeared in publications including Espace art actuel, Flash Art, and Metropolis M. She earned a BA from Bard College in New York and an MA from the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam, where she was a Fulbright fellow.
