The eighth son of the founder of the Jaegar cloth firm, Ihlee was one of the star pupils at the Slade School of Art, and was part of the trendy 'Slade Coster Gang' who wore black jerseys, red neck scarves and black berets!

Ihlee spent his happiest days in France and was by all accounts a charming and content person, and very successful, although largely forgotten in later years by the British public.
